Yes, AI can already take hours of writing, photo and follow up work off an agent's week, as long as you check every fact before it goes public. Start with ChatGPT Plus at $20 a month for listing descriptions, emails and social posts, then add Virtual Staging AI from $16 a month for vacant listings and a CRM with built in AI, like Follow Up Boss, when your lead volume grows.
Writing, staging and CRM AI tools are mature, affordable and widely used by agents today; the main risk is publishing inaccurate or misleading content, not the tools failing.ChatGPT
Best all around AI assistant for listing copy, client emails, social posts and quick research.
Most of an agent's AI value today comes from writing: listing descriptions, open house posts, follow up emails, market update newsletters and replies to tricky client questions. A general AI assistant does all of these, and ChatGPT covers the most of them in one subscription. ChatGPT Plus costs $20 a month and adds higher message limits, faster responses, voice conversations, image generation, file uploads and analysis, and deep research tools over the free plan ChatGPT Plus ↗.
Plus also adds projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs, which let you save your brand voice, brokerage disclaimers and favorite prompts in one place, plus extensions for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Sheets ChatGPT pricing ↗. Its larger context window lets you upload long documents, such as an HOA packet or inspection report, and ask for a plain English summary ChatGPT pricing ↗. That is useful for prep, but always check the summary against the original before you advise a client.
The free plan is a fine way to start. It includes unlimited text chats, subject to abuse guardrails, but limits uploads, image creation, voice, deep research and memory, and it has a much smaller context window ChatGPT pricing ↗. If you write listings every week, the $20 is worth it. Hands on testing is in progress; we will update this guide with results.
Why we like it
- Handles almost every writing task an agent has
- Projects and custom GPTs save your voice and disclaimers
- Reads and summarizes long documents
- Free plan to start
Flaws but not dealbreakers
- Can state wrong facts confidently; check everything
- Does not connect to your MLS or CRM on its own
- Not built for fair housing review
Virtual Staging AI
Best for agents with vacant or dated listings who want staged photos for a few dollars each.
Empty rooms photograph badly, and physical staging can cost thousands. Virtual Staging AI furnishes a photo in about 15 seconds, with 50+ design styles such as modern, Scandinavian, coastal and farmhouse, for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, offices, dining rooms and outdoor spaces Virtual Staging AI features ↗. It can also remove existing furniture with one click Virtual Staging AI features ↗. The company says it is MLS compliant and leaves the room layout untouched Virtual Staging AI features ↗.
Plans are cheap. Billed yearly, Basic is $16 a month for 6 photos, Standard is $19 for 20 photos, Professional is $39 for 60 photos and Enterprise is $79 for 150 photos, which works out to $0.53 to $2.67 a photo Virtual Staging AI pricing ↗. You can upload images for free with no sign up or credit card to see results first Virtual Staging AI features ↗.
Use it honestly. NAR says AI illustrations of a home's potential may be ethically acceptable but must not misrepresent the property, and that enhancing listing photos with AI can be legally risky NAR on AI ↗. Label staged photos as virtually staged, keep an unstaged version in the listing, and never use AI to hide defects.
Why we like it
- From $16 a month, under $1 a photo on larger plans
- About 15 second turnaround
- Furniture removal and 50+ styles
- Free test uploads with no sign up
Flaws but not dealbreakers
- Monthly billing prices not clearly shown
- Only 6 photos on the cheapest plan
- You must still label staged photos
Follow Up Boss
Best for busy agents and small teams who need AI to keep leads from going cold.
Once you have more leads than you can call back, the biggest payoff from AI moves from writing to follow up. Follow Up Boss is a real estate CRM that pulls in leads from more than 200 lead sources and connects to 250+ other tools Follow Up Boss pricing ↗. It includes AI at no extra charge Follow Up Boss pricing ↗. On the Pro and Platform plans that means smart summaries of a lead's history, AI drafted smart messages, suggested tasks and predictive lead prioritization, so you know who to call first Follow Up Boss pricing ↗.
The Grow plan is $58 per user a month billed yearly, or $69 monthly Follow Up Boss pricing ↗. Calling and texting are a $33 per user add on on Grow when billed yearly, and some AI features work better with that calling data Follow Up Boss pricing ↗. Pro is $416 a month billed yearly for 10 users, with unlimited calling and texting included Follow Up Boss pricing ↗. There is a 14 day free trial and no contract Follow Up Boss pricing ↗.
Follow Up Boss is a bigger change than our other picks: you move your database and your daily routine into it. That is worth it for agents with steady online leads or a small team. A solo agent working mostly from referrals can wait.

Canva
Best for free flyers, social graphics and open house signs with a little AI help.
Canva is where many agents already make just listed posts, flyers and open house signs. The free plan includes up to 20 standard or premium AI uses, with no access to its top tier AI Canva pricing ↗. That is enough to try AI writing and design help on a few listings a month.
Canva Pro costs $144 a year for one person and gives you 10 times the AI of the free plan, plus AI tools like resize, translate and background removal, subject to fair use limits Canva pricing ↗. If you post listings to several social networks, the one click resize alone can save real time.
Why we like it
- Free plan with 20 AI uses
- Templates for flyers, posts and signs
- Pro is $144 a year
Flaws but not dealbreakers
- Free AI uses run out quickly
- Not a real estate specific tool

Who this is for
This guide is for working real estate agents and small teams who want AI to save time on the work around a deal: writing listings and emails, preparing photos, posting to social media and following up with leads. It is not for brokerages buying enterprise systems.
You do not need many tools. One AI assistant, one staging tool if you list vacant homes, and a CRM with AI once your leads outgrow a spreadsheet cover most of the value. Everything else in this category is optional.
If you mostly work referrals and do a handful of deals a year, start with the free tools in this guide and add a paid one only when you feel the time savings.
Why you should trust us
We read each vendor's pricing and feature pages and checked every price on October 9, 2026. We also read NAR's guidance on artificial intelligence NAR on AI ↗ and a roundup of real estate AI tools from Luxury Presence, a real estate marketing company, which we used to find candidates and cross check prices Luxury Presence roundup ↗. Every fact links to its source.
We have not tested these tools hands on yet. Hands on testing is in progress, and we will update this guide with results, including sample listing descriptions and staged photos. No vendor paid for placement, and our picks were chosen on merit.
How we picked
We grouped real estate AI tools by the job they do: writing, photo and staging, marketing design, lead follow up, valuation and prospecting, and transaction paperwork. For each job we asked whether a typical agent would get its money back in saved hours or won deals.
We favored tools with published prices and a free plan or trial, because agents' income is uneven and monthly commitments add up. We passed over prospecting and valuation data services that cost hundreds of dollars a month or need long contracts, such as predictive seller lead tools priced at $399 to $999 a month Luxury Presence roundup ↗.
- Saves real time on a task agents do every week
- Published pricing, with a free plan or trial
- Easy enough to use without training
- Keeps you in control of what gets published
- Fits with the CRM and tools agents already use
What AI can and can't do for agents today
AI is strong at first drafts. It can turn your notes and the property facts into a listing description, a just listed post, a neighborhood guide or a follow up email in seconds. It can summarize long documents and turn a voice memo into a client update ChatGPT Plus ↗ ChatGPT pricing ↗.
AI is strong at photos. Virtual staging tools furnish empty rooms in seconds and remove clutter Virtual Staging AI features ↗. Canva's AI resizes one design for every social network Canva pricing ↗.
AI is getting good at follow up. CRMs now summarize a lead's history, draft the next message and rank who to call first Follow Up Boss pricing ↗. Some platforms sell AI agents that work leads around the clock; Lofty, for example, sells a Sales Agent add on described as a virtual ISA that turns leads into appointments Lofty pricing ↗.
AI is not reliable on facts. It can invent square footage, school names or features. Under the REALTOR Code of Ethics, agents must not exaggerate, conceal or misrepresent pertinent facts about a property, and NAR applies that standard to AI use NAR on AI ↗. NAR also warns that deepfakes can be used for fraudulent listings, impersonation and wire fraud NAR on AI ↗. You remain the human in the loop.
Before you sign up
Check every fact in AI written copy against the MLS data and your own notes before it goes live. Read listing descriptions for language that could raise fair housing concerns, such as describing who a home is ideal for instead of what the home offers.
Be careful with client data. NAR stresses protecting consumer data and guarding against breaches NAR on AI ↗. Do not paste client financial details, Social Security numbers or private documents into an AI tool unless your brokerage has approved it. Ask your broker whether they have an AI policy; NAR offers policy templates for brokers NAR on AI ↗.
Label virtually staged photos and keep the originals. AI that misrepresents a property can create legal risk NAR on AI ↗.
- Fact check every AI draft against the MLS
- Review copy for fair housing language
- Label virtually staged photos
- Keep client private data out of general AI tools
- Ask your broker about an AI policy
- Start with free plans and trials
What to look forward to
Real estate CRMs are adding AI agents that do more than draft. Lofty already lists custom AI agents, scheduled AI tasks and AI lead scoring in all plans, with sales, social and homeowner agents as add ons Lofty pricing ↗. Luxury Presence markets an AI agent that replies to and follows up with leads Luxury Presence roundup ↗.
We expect more of these agents to reach solo agent price points, and more rules about AI disclosure. NAR notes a growing patchwork of state AI laws NAR on AI ↗. We will update this guide as prices, rules and our testing change.
The competition
ClaudeFree; Pro starts at $20/month ($17 billed yearly)
Claude is a capable alternative to ChatGPT, often used for summarizing long documents, with a free plan and a Pro plan at $20 a month or $17 a month billed yearly Claude pricing ↗ Luxury Presence roundup ↗. Either assistant works well; we picked ChatGPT for its broader set of Plus extras such as image generation and voice ChatGPT Plus ↗.
ListingCopy.aiStarts at $19/month ($15/month billed yearly)
ListingCopy.ai is built for listing descriptions, starting at $19 a month for 15 credits ListingCopy.ai pricing ↗. Its pricing page does not say how many credits a description uses or mention a fair housing check, and a general assistant does the same job and much more for about the same price ListingCopy.ai pricing ↗.
REimagineHomeFrom $14/month (Essential, 30 credits)
REimagineHome offers 5 free designs with no card and paid plans with 30 to 900 credits a month, including batch processing for listings on Pro REimagineHome pricing ↗. LoftyQuote only
Lofty is an all in one real estate CRM and website platform with AI lead scoring and custom AI agents in every plan, and a virtual ISA Sales Agent as an add on Lofty pricing ↗. Jasper is AI writing software built for consistent brand voice, which Luxury Presence lists at $59 to $69 a month per seat Luxury Presence roundup ↗. That is triple the cost of ChatGPT Plus for an individual agent, so it fits brokerage marketing teams better.
