OUR VERDICT

The Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro is a midrange robot vacuum and mop with a dock that empties dust, washes and dries its mops, usually selling for about $485 to $550 against a $799 list price. Reviewers found it strong on hard floors and a good value, but weak on hair and carpet and prone to swallowing cables, so it suits tidy, hard floor homes more than pet owners.

What the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro is

Roborock rates its suction at 20,000 Pa from internal testing, while Tom's Guide lists 25,000 Pa Roborock store ↗ Tom's Guide review ↗. What it does well

Hard floors are its strength. In Tom's Guide's tests it picked up 92.5 percent of cereal and 92 percent of flaxseeds on hardwood Tom's Guide review ↗. Gizmodo found it reliably picked up small debris from hard floors and rugs without clogging Gizmodo review ↗.

Mopping is good for daily upkeep. Tom's Guide found its dual mops fully cleaned soy sauce, mayonnaise and mud in two passes Tom's Guide review ↗. Its FlexiArm mop extends around walls, corners and furniture legs, and the mops can detach automatically to keep high pile carpet dry, though you need to turn that on in the app Roborock store ↗.

Battery life is long. Tom's Guide lists 253 minutes of runtime from a 6,400 mAh battery Tom's Guide review ↗. Gizmodo's unit cleaned a 750 square foot apartment in just under two hours and finished with a little over half its charge left Gizmodo review ↗.

It is easy to live with. Tom's Guide found mapping accurate, with four rooms mapped in about 10 minutes, and praised the compact dock for smaller homes Tom's Guide review ↗. Gizmodo said it runs quietly except on top power, the dock is quieter than many rivals, and it works with Apple Home through Matter Gizmodo review ↗. A dual zero tangle brush system is designed to reduce hair wrap Roborock store ↗.

Where it falls short

Hair and carpet pickup are weak. Tom's Guide measured just 60 percent of hair on hardwood and 48 percent on carpet, and 51 percent of flaxseeds on carpet Tom's Guide review ↗. It said the robot is less suitable for pet owners or deep carpet cleaning Tom's Guide review ↗.

Obstacle avoidance misses flat objects. Gizmodo found it repeatedly pulled in micro USB cables, swallowed a child's sock and carried a headband back to its dock, though it handled shoes and boxes well Gizmodo review ↗. Roborock told Gizmodo that is an expected trade off because the robot lacks the cameras pricier models use Gizmodo review ↗. Tom's Guide also saw it bump sofa and table legs with some force Tom's Guide review ↗.

Gizmodo gave it 3.5 out of 5, saying it can't quite clean unsupervised, and its unit had a factory defect under the brushes that caused a docking problem until fixed with a screwdriver Gizmodo review ↗. Mopping struggled with rug borders, and heavy spills needed a second pass Gizmodo review ↗.

Some details are missing from Roborock's page, including wash temperature, threshold height and mop lift height Roborock store ↗.
