OUR VERDICT

Kling AI is an AI video generator that gives free users 66 credits a day and starts paid plans at $10 a month. It is the best free way to try AI video, but free clips are low resolution and watermarked, and paid credits go quickly once you add 1080p or sound.

What Kling AI is

Kling AI is an AI video and image generator. It turns text, images and reference material into short video clips Kling AI ↗. Its newest video model is Kling 4.0, which the company says offers stable, dynamic motion and an immersive audio visual experience Kling AI ↗.

Beyond simple clip generation, Kling has an image to video tool, Motion Control, an image model called Kling Image 3.0 with native 4K output, and a Canvas workspace for storyboards, scripts and batch work Kling AI ↗. It runs in the browser and has apps for iOS, Android, Mac and Windows Kling AI ↗.

Everything runs on credits. You get a small free allowance every day, and paid plans give you a monthly pool eesel ↗. Hands on testing is in progress; we will update this review with results.

What it does well

The free plan refills every day. Free users get 66 credits daily eesel ↗. Some rivals give a one time pack instead; Runway's free plan, for example, is 125 credits once Runway pricing ↗. That makes Kling a good place to experiment without paying.

The entry plan is cheap. Standard costs $10 a month, or $6.60 a month on a yearly plan, for 660 credits eesel ↗. It removes the watermark, adds commercial use rights and 1080p output, and gives unlimited Professional Mode and video extensions eesel ↗.

Pricing is transparent once you know the rates. On the Video 3.0 model, credits are charged per second: 6 a second at 720p without audio, 8 at 1080p, and 9 or 12 a second with native audio eesel ↗. A 5 second 1080p clip with no audio costs 40 credits eesel ↗.

It scales for heavy users. Pro, Premier and Ultra add more credits, faster processing and batch generation, and add on credit packs last two years eesel ↗.

Where it falls short

The free plan is very limited. Free output is 360p to 540p, carries a watermark and has no commercial rights eesel ↗. Professional Mode is limited to 3 trials and video extension to 2 eesel ↗. eesel estimates the daily credits cover about two 5 second 720p clips without audio, and reports community members calling the allowance not practical for real work eesel ↗.

Free credits do not build up. The 66 daily credits expire after 24 hours eesel ↗. Subscription credits also expire at the end of each billing month and do not roll over eesel ↗.

Failed attempts still cost you. Failed generations in the consumer app use credits, and eesel found no public auto refund policy eesel ↗. Since AI video often needs a few tries, eesel estimates Standard yields about 4 to 7 finished videos a month eesel ↗.

Prices have risen. Ultra went from $128 in August 2025 to $180 in January 2026, and it has no yearly option eesel ↗.

Kling's own home page does not list plan prices, so these figures come from eesel's June 2026 breakdown Kling AI ↗ eesel ↗. Check the in app pricing before you subscribe.
