The Best AI Presentation Maker

An AI presentation maker can turn a short prompt or a document into a first draft deck in minutes. Here is the one we would start with, the free option, and when to pay more.

THE SHORT ANSWERIn use

Yes. AI tools can now draft a full, decent looking deck from a prompt or a document, though you will still edit the words and fix some layouts. For most people we recommend Gamma: it has a free plan with 400 starting credits, exports to PowerPoint, PDF and Google Slides, and its paid plans start at about $9 a month billed yearly.

Millions of people already use these tools for first drafts, and every pick has a free plan or trial, but the output still needs a human edit before it goes in front of a client.

Gamma

Best for most people who want a good looking first draft deck from a prompt or a file.

Gamma does the whole job of an AI presentation maker in one place. You type a prompt or import a PowerPoint or PDF file, and it builds a deck you can edit, share as a link or export Gamma features ↗. Even the free plan exports to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides, and imports PDF and PPTX files Gamma pricing ↗. That matters for a small business: you are not locked in, and you can finish the deck in PowerPoint if a client or partner asks for one. Gamma also makes documents, simple websites and social posts with the same tools Gamma pricing ↗, and it says it has more than 100 million users Gamma features ↗.

The free plan is a real way to try it. New users get 400 credits at sign up, and those credits do not refresh on the free plan Gamma help, credits ↗. Free decks are limited to 10 slides per prompt Gamma pricing ↗. Plus raises that to 100 slides per prompt, adds better image models and removes Gamma branding; Pro adds premium image models, custom branding, analytics and custom domains Gamma pricing ↗. Gamma's own pricing page did not show prices when we checked, but Zapier's June 2026 review lists paid plans from $9 per seat a month billed yearly Zapier review ↗, and a June 2026 pricing breakdown lists Plus at 1,000 credits a month eesel, Gamma pricing ↗. Gamma's help center also uses 1,000 monthly credits as its Plus example Gamma help, credits ↗.

The weak spot is the company, not the slides. On Trustpilot, Gamma scores 1.7 out of 5 from 125 reviews, and most complaints are about being charged after cancelling, slow support, and the AI ignoring instructions Trustpilot, Gamma ↗. Trustpilot notes Gamma does not invite reviews, so unhappy users are more likely to post Trustpilot, Gamma ↗. Start on the free plan, and if you upgrade, set a calendar reminder before renewal. Hands on testing is in progress; we will update this guide with results.

Why we like it

  • Free plan exports to PowerPoint, PDF, PNG and Google Slides
  • Imports existing PowerPoint and PDF files
  • Also makes documents, simple websites and social posts
  • 400 free credits to try it with no card

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • Free credits do not refill each month
  • Free decks capped at 10 slides per prompt and carry Gamma branding
  • Many user complaints about billing and support
  • Prices were not shown on its own pricing page when we checked
Best free optionFree plan with up to 20 AI uses; Pro $144/year

Canva

Best for owners who want a free tool for decks, social posts and flyers in one place.

Canva is the free choice we would give most small businesses, because the deck is only one of the things it makes. Its Canva AI presentation builder asks for your audience, style and length, then writes an outline you can reorder before it designs the slides Canva presentations ↗. You can export the result as a PowerPoint file, a PDF, a video slideshow or a Canva website Canva presentations ↗. Canva AI works on the free account with a limited number of uses Canva presentations ↗.

The free plan is generous for design work. It includes more than 1.6 million templates, millions of photos and graphics, one Brand Kit with three colors, and 5GB of storage Canva pricing ↗. The AI limit is the catch: the free plan allows up to 20 standard or premium AI uses Canva pricing ↗. If you build a deck every week, that runs out. Canva Pro costs $144 a year for one person and gives about ten times more AI than Free, plus tools like background removal and resizing Canva pricing ↗. Zapier's reviewer liked its ease of use and branding tools, but warned that decks started from templates or AI can take extra work to look distinctive Zapier review ↗.

Choose Canva over Gamma if you also need social posts, flyers and menus, or if your team already lives in Canva. Choose Gamma if you mostly want the AI to write and lay out a long deck for you.

Why we like it

  • Free plan with a guided AI deck builder
  • Exports to PowerPoint, PDF and video
  • Huge template and photo library
  • One tool for decks, social posts and print

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • Free plan capped at 20 standard or premium AI uses
  • AI decks can look like everyone else's Canva deck
  • Brand Kit on Free is limited to three colors
Budget pickStarts at $10/user/month billed yearly, $15 monthly

Plus AI

Best for people who must stay inside Google Slides or PowerPoint.

Plus AI is different from our other picks: it works inside Google Slides and PowerPoint instead of asking you to move to a new app Plus AI pricing ↗. If your company already has templates, shared drives and habits built around those programs, that saves a lot of friction. It generates full presentations, inserts single slides, and rewrites or remixes slides you already have Plus AI pricing ↗.

The Basic plan is $10 a user per month billed yearly, or $15 billed monthly, with 1,500 AI credits a month Plus AI pricing ↗. Pro, at $20 billed yearly, adds uploads of PDF, Word and text files, very long prompts, AI images and unlimited team members Plus AI pricing ↗. Team, at $30 billed yearly, adds custom branding with your logo, colors and fonts Plus AI pricing ↗. Every paid plan has a 7 day free trial with 1,000 credits, but you need a credit card and it charges automatically when the trial ends Plus AI pricing ↗.

There is no free plan, and building a deck from a document needs the Pro plan Plus AI pricing ↗. If you only make a deck now and then, Canva's free plan is cheaper. If you make decks every week in Google Slides, Plus AI is the least disruptive option we found.

Why we like it

  • Works inside Google Slides and PowerPoint
  • Clear published prices from $10 a month billed yearly
  • Rewrites and remixes existing slides
  • Zapier, API and MCP options for automation

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • No free plan; trial needs a credit card
  • Document to deck needs the $20 Pro plan
  • Custom branding only from the Team plan
Upgrade pickStarts at $14.50/month billed yearly, $45 monthly

Beautiful.ai

Best for teams that send decks to clients every week and need them on brand.

Beautiful.ai is built around smart slides that rearrange themselves as you add content, so a deck stays tidy when several people edit it Beautiful.ai pricing ↗. Every plan includes unlimited AI content generation, more than 300 Smart Slide layouts, PowerPoint import and export, custom branding and viewer analytics Beautiful.ai pricing ↗. Zapier's reviewer praised its collaboration features and simple customization, and said its smart slides suit data that changes over time Zapier review ↗.

Pro costs $14.50 a month billed yearly, or $45 billed monthly Beautiful.ai pricing ↗. The Team plan is $40 a user per month billed yearly and adds real time co editing, a shared slide library, version control, locked slides and live data linking Beautiful.ai pricing ↗. That is what a sales or agency team needs: one approved template, locked logos, and slides that update from a data source. Both plans have a 14 day free trial, but you must enter a card, and you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel Beautiful.ai pricing ↗.

It is not the cheapest, and the monthly price is steep compared with the yearly price. Zapier also noted that its AI leans on text and data slides more than images Zapier review ↗. Beautiful.ai's pricing page is inconsistent about whether Team includes three users or is priced per seat, so confirm the seat terms before you buy Beautiful.ai pricing ↗.

Why we like it

  • Unlimited AI generation on every plan
  • Smart slides keep layouts tidy as you edit
  • Locked slides and shared libraries for teams
  • PowerPoint import and export

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • No free plan; trial needs a card
  • Monthly billing costs about three times the yearly rate
  • Team seat terms are unclear on the pricing page
Also greatCopilot add on starts at $18/user/month billed yearly

Microsoft 365 Copilot

Best for businesses that already pay for Microsoft 365 and use PowerPoint templates.

If your company runs on Microsoft 365, Copilot in PowerPoint may be the AI presentation maker you already have access to. In PowerPoint, Copilot can build a deck from a prompt: it may ask about audience and style, shows an outline you can edit, then builds the slides Copilot in PowerPoint ↗. It can also turn a Word document into a presentation, and if you start from your organization's template, it keeps that theme and its layouts Copilot in PowerPoint ↗. That last point is the reason to choose it: your company template stays intact.

Copilot for business is an add on at $18 a user per month billed yearly, or $25.20 billed monthly, on top of a Microsoft 365 plan Microsoft Copilot pricing ↗. Microsoft also sells Business Standard with Copilot from $23.50 a user per month billed yearly Microsoft Copilot pricing ↗. Microsoft says it works best with Word files under 24 MB, and a prompt based deck uses one language at a time Copilot in PowerPoint ↗.

Zapier dropped Copilot from its 2026 list and suggested it suits casual users who already have a Microsoft subscription Zapier review ↗. We agree it is rarely worth buying just for slides. But if you already pay for it, try it before you add another subscription.

Why we like it

  • Works inside PowerPoint with your own templates
  • Turns Word documents into decks
  • No new app for your team to learn

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • Needs a paid Microsoft 365 plan plus Copilot
  • Designs are more basic than Gamma or Beautiful.ai
  • Some options are still rolling out

Prices and features from each vendor’s site, checked Oct 9, 2026. Prices change often.

Who this is for

This guide is for owners and small teams who need decks but are not designers. That includes a consultant pitching a new client, a contractor sending a proposal, a med spa owner training new staff, a restaurant pitching a landlord, or a founder updating investors. Most of these decks follow a familiar pattern, and most of the time goes into layout and formatting rather than ideas.

An AI presentation maker takes a prompt, notes or an existing document and returns a full first draft: an outline, slide titles, short text, layouts and often images. You then edit it like any other deck. The best tools also export to PowerPoint or Google Slides, so you can hand the file to someone who does not use the same app.

If you make one deck a year, a free plan will do. If you send decks to clients every week, the money you spend on a paid plan is small compared with the hours you save, and brand controls start to matter.

Why you should trust us

We read each vendor's pricing and feature pages and help articles, checked prices on October 9, 2026, and read independent reviews and user feedback, including Zapier's June 2026 roundup Zapier review ↗ and user reviews on Trustpilot Trustpilot, Gamma ↗. Every fact in this guide links to the page it came from. Where a vendor's page was unclear or inconsistent, we say so.

We have not yet tested these tools hands on. Hands on testing is in progress, and we will update this guide with results, including how each tool handles the same five business decks and how clean the PowerPoint exports are. Until then, our picks rest on what vendors publish, what reviewers and users report, and how well each plan fits a small business. No vendor paid for placement.

How we picked

We started with about a dozen tools that come up most often in this category, including standalone deck makers, design suites with AI built in, and AI add ons for PowerPoint and Google Slides. We dropped tools aimed mainly at schools, tools with no published pricing, and tools whose main product has changed direction.

We then asked what a small business gets for free and for about $10 to $20 a month. Export mattered most, because a deck you cannot send as a PowerPoint or PDF file is a deck you cannot use with many clients. A free plan or a no risk trial came next, then brand controls for teams.

  • Builds a full first draft from a prompt, notes or a document
  • Exports to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides
  • A free plan or a free trial
  • Clear, published pricing
  • Brand controls such as logos, colors, fonts and locked slides
  • Reviews from independent testers and users

What an AI presentation maker can and can't do today

These tools are good at structure and speed. Canva and Microsoft Copilot both start with an outline you can change before any slides are built Canva presentations ↗ Copilot in PowerPoint ↗, which is how a human would work too. Gamma and Plus AI can turn an existing document into slides, which is useful when you already have a proposal or report Gamma features ↗ Plus AI pricing ↗. Beautiful.ai's smart slides adjust layouts as you add or remove content, which saves a lot of nudging boxes around Beautiful.ai pricing ↗.

They are weaker on substance. The AI writes from your prompt and whatever files you give it, so a vague prompt gives you a vague deck. Users report that AI can ignore clear instructions or cram content onto part of a slide Trustpilot, Gamma ↗. Zapier noted that template and AI output in Canva can take extra work to look distinctive Zapier review ↗. Numbers, prices and claims in a generated deck need checking, every time.

Treat the AI as a fast junior designer. Give it your real content, let it draft, then edit the words, replace stock images with your own photos where you can, and check every number before you present.

Before you sign up

Decide where the deck needs to end up. If clients expect a PowerPoint file, confirm the export on the plan you choose. Gamma exports to PowerPoint on its free plan Gamma pricing ↗, Canva exports to PowerPoint Canva presentations ↗, and Beautiful.ai includes PowerPoint import and export Beautiful.ai pricing ↗. Pitch, by contrast, lists PowerPoint export only on its paid plans Pitch pricing ↗.

Watch the trials. Plus AI and Beautiful.ai both require a credit card for their trials and charge automatically when the trial ends Plus AI pricing ↗ Beautiful.ai pricing ↗. Gamma users on Trustpilot report billing trouble after cancelling Trustpilot, Gamma ↗. Set a reminder a few days before any trial or renewal date.

Think about privacy. Anything you upload becomes input to the vendor's AI. Do not upload client contracts, patient details or financial records unless you have read the vendor's data policy. If your company already pays for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, their built in AI may already be covered by your business agreement Microsoft Copilot pricing ↗ Google Workspace pricing ↗.

  • Write a one paragraph brief: audience, goal, length and the one thing they must remember
  • Gather your logo, brand colors, fonts and real photos first
  • Check that your plan exports to the format your clients use
  • Use free plans before paying, and avoid card required trials until you are ready
  • Proofread every number, name and price the AI writes
  • Keep sensitive client data out of uploads

What to look forward to

The big shift is toward agents that work with your other files. Microsoft is rolling out an Agent Mode in PowerPoint and says referencing files in that mode is coming soon Copilot in PowerPoint ↗. Gamma now connects to more than 25 apps, including Slack, Notion, Dropbox and Salesforce, and works with ChatGPT and Claude Gamma features ↗. Plus AI offers an API, Zapier and an MCP server so decks can be built automatically from other tools Plus AI pricing ↗.

We expect this to make decks that pull live numbers from your sales or accounting tools routine within the next year. We will update this guide as these features ship and as our hands on testing finishes.

The competition

PitchStarts at €10/month billed yearly

Pitch has a free plan with unlimited presentations, but only 100 AI credits that do not renew, and its pricing page lists PowerPoint export on paid plans, not on Free Pitch pricing ↗. Paid plans start at €10 a month billed yearly Pitch pricing ↗. Zapier liked its designs and saw it as best for sales teams Zapier review ↗.

Gemini in Google WorkspaceIncluded in Business Standard ($14/user/month annual) and Plus

Google Workspace includes Gemini in Slides on its Business Standard and Plus plans, but not on Starter Google Workspace pricing ↗. It is worth trying if you already pay for those plans, but it is not a reason to switch office suites, and it does less deck building than our picks.

PreziStandard $7/user/month billed yearly; Plus $19/month

Prezi makes zooming, non linear presentations that stand out, and Zapier lists a Plus plan at $19 a month with unlimited AI use Zapier review ↗. Zapier's reviewer warned that fast zoom transitions can cause motion sickness on large screens, and the format is less familiar to most business audiences Zapier review ↗.

SlidesAIFree; Pro $10/month billed yearly

SlidesAI adds AI to Google Slides and PowerPoint, and Zapier included it for that reason Zapier review ↗. Plus AI covers the same job with clearer published pricing and more features for teams Plus AI pricing ↗.
